Future Plans – Official update from the GroestlCoin-Team (GRS)
Introduction
First of all we would like to thank all our supporters, developers and miners of GroestlCoin out there without whom this coin never would have grown into what it has become, in such a short time-frame.GRS is a team and a community based coin. Our ‘history’ is only a few weeks old and the team was just recently developed out of a handful of volunteers who believe in the potential the coin has to offer.The original developer of the coin is a mystery to us. He developed the technical platform based on the groundbreaking Groestl-algo on which we are standing today and then suddenly disappeared without a trace.
If you like you can still follow what happened in the first pages of BTC-talk. We never got to know him personally. Only our main developer, who recently took over, was sporadically in contact with him through BTC-talk private messages. A little bit like Bitcoin and Satoshi Nakamoto.The new team is here to take the coin to the next level. The coin was developed with fairness in mind and we intend to continue on that path. The newly developed Groestl-algo, which has been incorporated into the coin, allows us to move into new areas within crypto currencies which until today have not been much explored before. A lot of this has to do with the efficiency of mining that GroestlCoin has to offer compared to how e.g. scrypt mining.
The advantages are enormous in hashing, power consumption, heat and noise. Not only that, the coin also balances out the differences when mining it on various platforms such as CPU compared to GPU. GPU mining with GRS is not as superior as e.g. in scrypt mining.The difference is approximately 5-10 times higher hashing output, whereas in scrypt the difference is up to 100 times higher if not more. The platform gap has become smaller and thus you could say mining has become more balanced or more equal for all involved miners.We intend to continue along this path and develop these aspects further for other platforms, such as mobile applications and other platforms where we can find a mainstream usage for it, for the masses. The work has already begun.
As mentioned the community is an essential part for GRS. We have a whole army of supporters out there who help us develop and optimize our mining platforms. There is hardly a day that goes by when there is not a new miner that has been further optimized to squeeze out even more hashes out of your hardware. And the work continues.
