Summary

CraftCoin (CRC) is a cryptocurrency based on Litecoin. CraftCoin was designed to be a portable in-game currency for Minecraft servers. The currency is used to buy in-game items on minecraft servers, and can be instantly transferred to any other Minecraft server that supports CraftCoin. Best of all it is absolutely free for anybody to use for private and commercial use.

Help Get Craftcoin Moving: P2Pool Mining Pool at TreasureQuarry. USA server. 1% Lets help get CraftCoin moving. Recently this promising little coin was the subject of a massive sudden increase followed by a sudden decrease in hashing power (probably an attack), which had left the whole Craftcoin network temporarily crawling at a very slow pace of block production. The Craftcoin code has been updated now to get the coin moving again, and TreasureQuarry’s pool is using the new Craftcoin code, so let’s pool our resources and help get things back on track.

Since April 15th, 2011, a day dubbed as ‘Black Friday’ by the online gaming community, it has become increasingly difficult to deposit funds for online casino gaming due to deposit restrictions between centralized financial institutions and online casino platforms. Avid online players have since not been able to enjoy the same conveniences and the ease of accessibility that they were once afforded. Those days are no more with the advent of CasinoCoin.

As a decentralized crypto currency, CasinoCoin offers the solution to help fill this void. Consider CasinoCoin as a universal casino chip that is easily transferable between online casino gaming applications, exchanges and peers. Imagine using CasinoCoin at your favorite online poker sites, then instantly transfer your winnings over to your favorite online casino to play Blackjack. How about a friendly wager over a game of chess? This is all possible with CasinoCoin.

CasinoCoin is an open source, peer-to-peer digital currency specifically designed for online casino gaming. It is a platform independent crypto currency that is easily transferable between gaming applications, exchanges and peers. CasinoCoin can simply be summed up as universal casino chips.

By itself, CasinoCoin has no value. Within casino gaming applications, it can be used to play games of skill and chance. On the exchanges, CasinoCoin is worth what the market values it at and it can be bought, sold and exchanged to fiat currencies such as US dollars or exchanged to other crypto currencies such as Bitcoin.

CasinoCoin is based on the strengths of crypto currency protocols such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, Feathercoin and digitalcoin, giving it a second movers advantage. It leverages the security of Bitcoin, the accessibility of Litecoin, the abundance of Feathercoin, and the speed of digitalcoin. While CasinoCoin can be used as a general purpose currency, it serves a specific purpose and is marketed exclusively for online casino gaming and rewards redemption.

Central to the goal of CasinoCoin is to help make online casino gaming accessible to all by removing barriers. The success and strength of CasinoCoin rely on three main pillars: active and talented developers, fostering community, and trust through transparency.

Scam Alert: Earthcoin

Earthcoin is another one of those crapcoins with some minor tweak that tries to pass itself off as a gamechanger.

In this case, a slightly fluctuating block reward, supposedly in accordance with earth’s rotation, is this coin’s ‘killer feature’. Is this really what catches the altcoin scene’s attention now? Gimmicky block reward mechanisms? A 58 page forum thread would make it appear that way.

Earthcoin is being promoted heavily by a lot of sockpuppet accounts with <30 activity rating. This immediately throws up a bunch of red flags, and is always indicative of something shady going on. So, I began to search for a motive. Tucked neatly away in the the main post is this little gem: “Premined 2% for promotions, giveaway, bounties, dev and long term support.” With a total of 13,500,000,000 coins, that makes this ’2%’ premine consist of a whopping 270,000,000 coins. Earthcoin also had superblocks, making it not only massively premined, but instamined as well. What a winner of a coin!

If history has taught us anything, these premined coins are not going to be used for their stated purpose. They are going to be dumped onto anyone who’s foolish enough buy them. There is nothing unique or exciting about Earthcoin. It’s just another pathetic attempt to fleece people of their money.

Who the hell is buying DogeCoin

Here’s an article I didn’t think I’d have to see myself doing, yet here we are.

DogeCoin, the silliest coin to ever pierce the 10m market cap barrier. It will go down in crypto history as one of the most successful (and ridiculous) pump and dumps. Where do I even start with this?

Due to the silly nature of the coin, no one took it seriously, so the hashrate was extremely low during the first few days. DOGE ownership is extremely disproportional because of this, with the early few miners (or diggers, as they call them) holding the lion’s share of DOGE. No doubt they’re furiously trying to offload as much as possible while this coin is still hot.

DogeCoin reeks of developer incompetence as well. Not even 2 weeks after release, and it is already on version 1.2, with 33 commits on github. How is it even possible to screw up so many things in a simple litecoin clone?

The current difficulty scaling system this coin employs (400% in either direction) makes it a perfect candidate to get raped by multipools, so expect a hardfork soon. Total amateur job. DogeCoin is better suited to be the subject matter of a book called Baby’s First AltCoin than anything else.

DOGE is down over 50% from its high, but still has plenty of room to fall further. Can anyone honestly look at this coin and say it has a future? Yeah, it’s cute, it’s funny, but it admittedly doesn’t take itself seriously, and has no appeal to anyone over the age of 25. Like all memes, DogeCoin will eventually die off. That is an inevitable fact. Try not to be a bagholder when that happens.

BTC China Halts CNY Deposits

Bitcoin markets have been roiled dramatically in the past two weeks by actions of the PBOC.

Initial notice on December 5 stating that financial institutions would not be allowed to transact in bitcoin were followed by rumors that payment processors would no longer be able to serve bitcoin exchanges, which have since been validated. The result has been not only a dramatic drop in exchange rates – from $650 to as low as $400 earlier today – but also an historic spread between USD and CNY markets, reaching upwards of 30% this morning.

This morning, BTC China and OKCoin temporarily suspended CNY deposits, while still allowing CNY withdrawals and two-way flow of bitcoin.

“Dear BTC China valued customer: Due to new government regulations, BTC China will temporarily suspend CNY deposits. BTC deposits/withdrawals and CNY withdrawals are not affected, and will continue to operate in the interim. Rest assure that BTC China will continue to operate normally. Please pay attention to our notices for updates, as we find other ways to allow for CNY deposits. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience. BTC China, December 18, 2013″

In doing so, the technical bid has been pulled from the market, enabling only single-directional trading for new money entering the exchanges, wherein people can effectively only sell bitcoin. The result has become a significantly disjointed market across currencies.

As we pointed out yesterday when noticing an 9% discount between CNY and USD markets, relative to the ~5% historically, “If the rumors [about payment processors] turn out to be unfounded, the discount of CNY markets relative to USD would likely trend closer the norm.” The rumors turned out to be true, leading the converse to occur, with trading at $431 (equivalent) on BTC China and $545 on Bitstamp and – a 29% discount.

cnyusd spread

The situation at hand is the inverse of what has been playing out over recent months with Mt. Gox, the previous global leader in bitcoin exchange volume. As the company suspended withdrawals due to a series of banking issues, XBT / USD rates on their exchange climbed to a notable premium relative to other exchanges. With CNY deposits halted for BTC China, it’s not surprising to see the significant discount. Like the Mt. Gox scenario, arbitrage across exchanges is difficult to realize regardless of the price differential as a result of the capital flow restrictions.

Those restrictions, on top of the recently reinstated fees on the leading CNY exchanges have also dramatically impacted the distribution of global trading volume. As we noted yesterday, “[December 16] was one of the few days in the past six weeks where USD volume outpaced CNY.” Now with additional data points to consider, a trend indicating CNY’s decreasing relevance on the global stage is already beginning to emerge.

Exposing the WorldCoin

Since worldcoin (WDC) was just added to BTC38, what better time to do it than now?

Like all great coins, WorldCoin had nicely sized premine and instamine associated with it. Let’s take a look:

You can see the very small premine during hours 1-4 which was intended to mask the much larger premine that occured during hours 45-47, during which time approximately 200k WDC were minted, with a network hashrate of only 3.5MHash. Hours 47-53 represents the instamine, with an additional 200k WDC were created. All told, 400k WDC were premined/instamined.

As damning as that may be, this article would be pretty boring if that’s all I had to say about worldcoin, so let’s get to the juicy stuff. I have a contact who was affiliated with the worldcoin inner circle, so I know a great deal about how they operate. Since it’s inception, those behind worldcoin have been more interested with price manipulation than coin development. Worldcoin exists only as a medium for them to extract money out of those foolish enough to buy into the web of lies they weave.

Where do I begin? Let’s start with The United Open Currency Solutions (UNOCS), a collaboration initiative between worldcoin and two of the most notorious scamcoins of the time, phenixcoin and feathercoin. Using silly terms like “CEO of worldcoin” and “CIO of feathercoin” in their press release, UNOCS amounted to one of the most pathetic and transparent pump and dump schemes in recent times, yet people still managed to fall for it.

The price of these coins surged by 100% on this news, and the FTC/PXC/WDC insiders proceeded to dump their stash onto the market, making a nice profit. Unsurprisingly, UNOCS fell apart 2 months later, but that didn’t matter. While UNOCS itself was a failure, the pump and dump was a great success.

Now that the worldcoin insiders had dumped their coins onto the market, they needed to restock before their next pump and dump scheme. So, for the next 6 weeks, they put their marketing efforts on hold, letting the price of the coin bottom out so they could refill their reserves. This is reflected in how dead the worldcoin thread was – it would often go a week without a new post. After acquiring a suitable amount of coins, it was primetime to launch the next scheme…

Enter Scharmbeck, a teaser site with no real info claiming to be launching USD->WDC services. Presented as a “prime investing opportunity” and having the gall to compare itself to companies like JP Morgan, Scharmbeck appears to be all fluff and no substance, much like UNOCS was. When confronted, they point to their LLC status as proof of legitimacy… To which I say: good job, you figured out how to place an order on legalzoom.com

Will Scharmbeck come to fruition? Possibly. But given worldcoin’s history, I wouldn’t bet on it. One other thing worth mentioning is that given the amount of insider trading and pump and dumps they’ve done, they’re playing a dangerous game should it actually go live. I’m intrigued to see how this plays out, either way.

Definition: Argentum is the Latin name for the element silver. Silver is a chemical element with the chemical symbol Ag (Greek: άργυρος árguros, Latin: argentum, both from the Indo-European root *arg- for “grey” or “shining”) and atomic number 47.

It is the perfect name to represent this currency and the potential it has with a dedicated development team. Argentum is fast, unique, and secure. We have learned from many of the past crypto-currencies and created one that can rival any. Argentum brings innovation and experimentation that pushes the limits.

Summary

Namecoin is an open source decentralized key/value registration and transfer system based on Bitcoin technology (a decentralized cryptocurrency). It also acts as an alternative, decentralized DNS, which would avoid domain name censorship by making a new top level domain outside of ICANN control, and in turn, make internet censorship much more difficult, as well as reduce downages. Namecoin currently uses the .bit domain, and as of July 2013, 78549 .bit domains have been registered.

Worldcoin Rocking Your World

First of all, Worldcoin’s value has exploded.

We have seen peaks of 0.00016 bitcoin per Worldcoin, although things seem to have calmed down now around the 0.000135 mark. Still, it’s an increase in price, which is making my portfolio of coins look better and better without any involvement on my side.

Not that Worldcoin was the only coin hitting some good numbers today though. Primecoin, Digitalcoin, Securecoin, Megacoin and Anoncoin have all been climbing on the Coin Market Cap charts. In the event of Megacoin, Anoncoin, and Securecoin, this is most likely due to the fact they are now listed on BTC38, a Chinese exchange.

But who cares about anything besides Worldcoin? I, for one, do very much so. As you may have noticed, i’m also a Scharmbeck Fee Share owner. And what does Monday bring us? Yup, you got it right, a new round of interim dividend payments.

On this front, everything was above expectations. The interim dividend per share has increased by 50% compared to last week. Where the dividend per share was 0.00000978 on November 18th, the return has increased to 0.00001366 per share on November 25th. As you can see, all goes well in the land of Scharmbeck Fee Shares.

So what will be in store tomorrow for Crypto enthusiasts? Will it be a Tenacious Tuesday? Or maybe a Triple Tuesday? We can only await what the future brings us. But I’m definitely looking forward to it, as these are some of the most exciting times in the history of Cryptocurrency, and we should all be proud to be a part of this.

All we can hope to see is more coins being picked up by Chinese exchanges, as that definitely helps to grow awareness and increase the value. China certainly plays a key role in the future of Cryptocurrency in general. Funny how both China and Cryptocurrency start with a “C”, isn’t it?

Anoncoin - is set to Impress Us

Anoncoin (ANC): The best kept secret in cryptocurrency is set for exponential growth!

ANC

That is right our faithful followers, we have breaking news! You heard it here before it hits the NY Times next week. ANC market cap severely under rated. Let us take into consideration to date there are only half of a million coins and at the time of writing this only 3 million in capitalization.

Part of this is due to early investors dumping shares allowing coin to be put in more shareholders hands. Mining is good with ANC now with the difficulty adjustment fix. The network is rewarding its miners with a healthy bounty at over 2500% of Bitcoin profitability in the last 7 day period.

Also a New member has joined the ANC developer team. A real big gun in computer science developer, and mathematician, that goes by the Screen name of Gnosis. Gnosis’ main directive will be working mainly on the Zerocoin project and similar future projects. The implementation of Zerocoin , or a Zerocoin like algorithm, will further heighten, the security laden nature of this coin.

Coin control is almost fixed for next release .. It is rumored that the new wallet might include a nice sleek updated skin as well. ANC is currently looking to translate all of it’s source codes and client into Chinese, to assist our friends in China be able to enjoy

ANC as well.

So with a 33% growth rate at a time when BTC is at a 12% growth rate ANC is a good pick in the upcoming weeks.

SRC & DGC Buzz From Baritus

Securecoin (SRC) and Digitalcoin (DGC) are two very good cryptocurrencies, and the following stats are evidence of this fact.

Baritus, the developer of both coins gave us some information:

After being added to Bter, we have seen SRC’s daily volume soar past 1 million CNY. DGC has always been at home at Cryptsy, and it is nice to see it getting some Chinese exposure on another exchange.

Digitalcoin

DGC now has a 1 milllion USD market cap! DGC is a major contender for the best alt-coin. This time-tested coin is looking better and better.

CryptoAve is now in beta testing, and is coming along nicely. USD markets for DGC and SRC are to be available at this exchange, headed by Baritus.

Stablecoin – Back from the dead

Stablecoin – Back from the dead, and an excellent investment oppurtunity

“I’m sure many were disappointed and confused when I vanished earlier this year, and StableCoin development grinded to a halt. My life’s been playing out like something out of a Hollywood movie. I do not want to talk at length about the situation at the moment, but it’s been a very harrowing experience. I’ve been disconnected from the rest of the world for the better part of 5 months and have had a lot taken from me.”

One of this coin’s weakest points was that it has a pretty big premine, supposedly for use in a coin mixing service. As part of the rebirth of stablecoin, artos has destroyed the entirety of the premine. This is great news, and bodes great for the future of the coin.

This could quite possibly be the biggest news in the altcoin scene this year. In part to artos’ disappearance, stablecoin has bottomed out at a price of 0.00000400 on Cryptsy as of yesterday. Since this news has broken, some huge buy orders have been rolling in, pushing the price up to, 0.00000800, as of the time I write this article.

Stablecoin itself is a relatively scarce coin, with only about 6 million of them floating around. To that end, the current price on cryptsy is still egregiously underpriced. A short term price target of $0.50 or even $1.00 is very reasonable, judging by similar coins on http://coinmarketcap.com. At the moment, each coin is still under a penny… So there’s plenty of room for it to grow.

Expect explosive gains in the coming days. Those who get in early will profit immensely.

Quark – Is it worth buying?

I’ve always had somewhat of a soft spot for Quark.

It was a quirky little CPU mined coin that launched with a very unique hashing mechanism, yet faded into obscurity in part due to how horribly it was managed. And yet here I am writing an article about it… Why, you ask?

Quark is up over 2000% during the past week. A lot of other coins have seen significant growth during this period as well, but most of those coins (SRC, PTS, to name a few) owe their growth to being listed on the chinese based BTC38 exchange, and the resulting influx of yuan. Quark is different in that it’s growth has been spurred by non-chinese sources.

So what’s been driving quark’s growth if not the chinese? Supposedly Bill Still (who I’ve admittedly never heard of, yet apparently has somewhat of a following behind him) has expressed interest in it. This could mean good things to come, if the hype is to be believed.

With rumors flying around that BTC38 is looking into adding quark, there’s still room for even more explosive growth. The chinese have altcoin fever right now, and are indiscriminately pumping money into any coin they can get their hands on. With the relative low cost per unit of quark, it could see some impressive growth should it get listed.

All things considered, I believe it to be worthwhile to hold a speculative stake of this coin at the moment. The coming days should be very interesting.

Feathercoin Official Weekly Update #9

The Price of Survival

Feathercoin Key Stats

217 days since genesis block creation

Approx. 23,200,000 Feathercoins created

Approx. 14.7 days behind target generation rate

The abundance of open source has met with the scarcity of money. If money were not scarce it would not force us to make the sacrifices necessary to reveal our true preferences to the group. That mechanism cannot work without consensus across a broad range of people. In order to be money everyone must agree all the time that your currency has value. It is not good enough that the butcher only believes dollars are worth something 3 days a week. The relative value may fluctuate against various commodities but he must be willing to exchange his money at all times.

When someone sees something in you that scares them they face a choice. They can either attack you or they can be humble and curious. This crypto currency space can be hostile at times because while the code may be open source and shared the money it creates is not and that terrifies us. We all believe we have unique access to the truth, sometimes we need so desperately to be right that we distract ourselves from what is important. I have found the best way to respond to hostility is to keep working and with that we now turn to some of the hardest workers in our community…

CryptoKnox

I don’t know how many times I can say this but UKMark, Nutnut and Svenn have done it again. UKMark is the guy who has put in countless hours in to SMS Wallet and now another 350 hours in to CryptoKnox the new online wallet with Merchant API exclusive to Feathercoin. The lads have committed some serious energy and commitment in to the project.

I don’t know where they get their energy from but what I do know is that I will always support someone willing to put in this kind of time and effort and do my best to remove any obstacles to their success.

CryptoKnox is and online wallet with Merchant API currently in alpha testing

I spoke to them last night on skype and they told me:

Security is paramount especially since the inputs.io scandal so fresh in our minds. All wallets are stored off host, all servers are hardened to the latest standards, all interserver traffic is encrypted AND on private networks, and everything is behind cloudflares CDN.

The Reason behind Knox is to make FTC more accessible to the new people. To find, download and setup a wallet when you first start your journey in to crypto is somewhat daunting. Cryptoknox aims to offer an easy and secure way to get your first Feathercoin wallet address.

This is just an alpha at the moment, security is the most important feature which is why we are asking for some keen beta testers. The lads are getting help from some security experts and I will be helping them with UX and usability feedback.

EDIT: UKMark asked me to point out that the CryptoKnox wallet is not just an online wallet but also includes a secure Merchant API to help merchants integrate Feathercoin payments in to their existing shopping carts. There is more info on their home page.

Local Feathercoin Progress Report

Since its launch back in early October our Feathercoin Map has been growing faster and faster. The main motivation behind the project was to highlight the need for localism. We like to think of Feathercoin as a local currency and you don’t get to the very big without paying attention to the very small.

From our humble beginnings back in early October…

…to the present day

Now due to the rising demand on this page we are slowing down the entries in order to verify all the accounts before we move on to the next stage. If you have put your name forward but don’t see yourself on there it’s because we need some time to verify you on the forum.

Plans now include putting on crypto related events, could be a Bitcoin Conference or a local Litecoin meetup, we don’t care as long as it involves a blockchain. So we welcome all submissions, I will try and get a new form put up there in the next week but in the mean time you can PM me personally like Smoothie on our forum who will be selling his physical Bitcoins and Litecoins at the Inside Bitcoin conference in Las Vegas in December.

The London Bitcoin Expo

Speaking of communities and events here’s a good one. We first heard about the London Bitcoin Expo back in July when we attended the BTC London conference. We try to attend as many of these as possible to make sure we get to meet face to face and away from our computer screens.

This free event welcomes all people and the organisers are working very hard at making this a success

Ruth spoke to Alex who is leading the organisation of the Expo the other day and it sounds like these guys are working incredibly hard. We know just how they feel after the mission we faced in Amsterdam. There will be a stall where people can donate their goods to be sold for Crypto, a virtual treasure hunt where people can venture out in to London to unlock bounties and a fantastic lineup of Speakers.

You can register for the event on the London Bitcoin Meetup page which is run by our friend Iain Cresswell. The impact of crypto on the ground is what it’s all about.

TL;DR – Genius and the Wisdom to Remember It

Everyone wants to be the genius, the one who makes that breakthrough discovery with the razor sharp insight but what’s harder is working on the task right in front of you, the one you can work on right now. Surrounding yourself with the people who want to support you and appreciate you for what you do is one of the most important steps you can take. What is genius without the wisdom to remember it? It’s often the wisdom that can understand the genius better than the genius understood herself.

You don’t need to be the best qualified to undertake a task you simply need the determination to carry on even while everyone around you is telling you to stop.

You can find last week’s newsletter here: Just Fork It. Today special thanks go to @Ruthie for her contributions to this newsletter.

FRANKO. The digital currency

What is Franko?

Written by Seiko Chan

Franko is an amazing new digital currency based on cryptography. Franko coins can instantly be sent anywhere in the world over the internet for little to no cost. One Franko is denominated as 1 FRK.

Where do new Franko come from?

Franko releases new currency units into the economy at a predictable rate of 720FRK per day until the network has produced 11,235,813 FRK. New Frankos are created in a process referred to as “mining,” which involves Franko users running software that tries to calculate a complex mathematical solution that increases in difficulty based on the amount of other users trying to caclulate the same solution. One can compare it to finding a needle in a haystack. Whoever finds the needle first, earns 0.25 Frankos, anonounces the find to everyone else and then the process starts all over again. The goal is to find that needle every 30 seconds, so the more people searching for the needle the bigger the haystack becomes. Finding the Franko solution involves an incredible amount of computer processing power, and so users often collectively work together in “pools” in order to find the solution and earn Frankos on a more regular basis.

Where can you get Franko?

There are only two ways to get Franko. The first way to get Franko is by enabling your computer to confirm transactions for the network (“mining”). Confirming transaction blocks often involves an incredible amount of processing power, so users often mine together in “franko pools” in order to process transactions faster and earn Franko on a more regular basis. The second way to get Franko is simply to buy them from someone who already has them. You can earn your first Franko by following the Getting Started guide sponsored by BriefCaseIT:
