ECCOIN : ENVIRONMENTAL CONSCIENCE CRYPTOCURRENCY

It’s time to discuss some more “relatively unknown”alternate cryptocurrencies.

We can’t keep going on about the popular coins forever, can we? I’m sure you’ll all getting sick and tired of it already. Either way, the “new” cryptocurrency for this article is called ECCoin.We have seen a focus on energy saving and/or doing good for nature with a few cryptocurrencies in the past. ECCoin is also focusing on energy saving, by having most of its blocks created during the Proof-of-Stake phase.ECCoin’s Proof-of-Work stage lasted 45 days, which is about a month and a half worth of mining. During this stage, there were no halvings of block rewards, or anything like that, in order to ensure a fair distribution of ECC.

To throw some numbers you way : during the Proof-of-Work stage of ECCoin, 18,000,000,000 ECC have been mined. In total, after a cycle of about 10 years, there will be a supply of 50,000,000,000 ECC, with a 1% inflation per year after that.These additional cins will be generated through a variable Proof-of-Stake rate. During year 1, you will see a 25% PoS interest rate, year 2 will give you 15%, years 3-9 will give you 10% interest, and starting year 10, there will be a constant annual interest of 1%.To earn your Proof-of-Stake interest, your ECCoin will need a minimum age of 42 days, and a maximum age of 84 days.This means you should open up your ECCoin wallet at least once every 84 days, to make sure you get your interest.We can now celebrate ECCoin’s Ecological Awareness Day, which takes place on April 22nd of every year from now on. I’m not sure what these festivities will entail, but it’s something to look forward to next year I’d say.
