Anoncoin - more Privacy

Anoncoin is supposed to be an altcoin that offers more privacy to its users.

It is designed on the zerocoin technology, which is practically a chain that imitates the one of the bitcoin and of other altcoins. The Anoncoin claims to be the “safety net” of altcoins .Why? Because if the Bitcoin disappears, the anoncoin will replace it, at least in the “underground side” of the internet.

I hardly doubt that, if the central banks decide to shut down the bitcoin, they will allow the other altcurrencies to exist. I am pretty sure that the anoncoin and any other virtual imitations will also disappear. The only anoncoins that will “survive” such genocide are the ones hidden in the i2p. Besides the controversies about its main claim, the idea of creating a “backup” for the Bitcoin is interesting. The idea is even more interesting because the Anoncoin is the only crypto that supports I2P/Tor. This gives complete anonymity, but we can’t say the same thing about security. This is an older idea, launched by the Zerocoin project. A Zerocoin is a mirror of the Bitcoin. When you want to “secure” your Bitcoins, you just need to exchange those into zerocoins. Then, when you need them again, you can exchange those to bitcoins again, after taking those through darknets.

Why the zerocoin idea and its derived cryptos can be contested

Zerocoin starts from the idea that the Bitcoin is not private, because people use public keys to sign transactions. They say that the Bitcoin ledger is public; therefore anybody can see the transactions. It is true, but it is not possible to see the parts involved in a trade. Maybe it is their diplomatic way of saying that Zerocoins have the main goal of being used on 12p.

Back to Anoncoins

The anoncoin is supposed to be safer than the bitcoin. We doubt that it will be, because it seems more like a laundry machine used for I2P or Tor, but it is nice to have it around, if you don’t mind premined currencies (1000 Blocks). The Anoncoins were launched almost one year ago, so they have passed numerous tests since now. Even if it was created as Bitcoin privacy support coin, it is a Litecoin clone. Anoncoin is supposed to be a “coin mixer”, which allows using those on darknets, so it can be used to “hide” any altcoin.

There will be 4.2 million coins in circulation. A block is generated once 3.42 minutes, and the difficulty changes once every four days. The value of a block halves every two years. There are only five coins rewarded per block, which makes it one of the extremely rare altcoins.
