DISTROCOIN MANDATORY UPDATE

Apparently there have been some minor issues with DistroCoin lately.

Some people are complaining about slow block and transaction speeds, as well as staking complaints. A new DistroCoin client has been released today though.

As I mentioned, people were reporting transaction times of over 50 minutes to send coins from one wallet to another, which is even slower than Bitcoin transactions in most cases. Others were not staking properly in the DistroCoin client. The developer, Raxe.io, has released an updated DistroCoin client today for all platforms (Mac OS X, Linux & Windows). This client should fix all the aforementioned issues, and speed up the DISTRO network significantly.

Other than that, this updated DistroCoin client brings some changed icons and computability patches. It’s a good thing these issues get fixed so quickly, as staying on top of (minor) issues is one of the developer’s responsibilities.

We will keep you updated as we receive more information about this project.BlackCoin is seeking to increase the depth of their talented development pool. But with the growing marketcap and interest , more helping hands are welcome in order to keep pushing the limits of innovation and development.

Cryptsy Mining Contract - review

Bitcoin mining contacts require significant amounts of risk: price fluctuation, counterparty risk (i.e. your cloud miner could shut down or fail to deliver as promised) and dramatic increases in difficulty rates. All of those factors make something like Cryptsy‘s Mining Contract 2 appealing.

How Cryptsy’s Mining Contact 2 works

You simply buy a share of Cryptsy’s Mining Contact 2 (MN2) on their open exchange and that entitles you to the daily payout from 0.01 TH/s (or 10 GH/s) of mining power. At the moment, shares of MN2 are trading for roughly $74. When I calculated the daily payout from 0.01 TH/s of mining power here, I see that at current difficulty rates, you can expect your share of MN2 to pump out about $0.28 USD a day (paid out in bitcoin directly to your Cryptsy account).

If nothing changed, you’d get your original investment back in 264 days. However, there are two additional factors to consider. First, let’s look at the negative one: the difficulty level for bitcoin mining is trending up, and that’s a trend that’s expected to continue. That means your payouts could drop by about 7 percent (at current rates) every 1-2 weeks. On the positive side, your share of MN2 won’t stop paying out even after you’ve made back 100 percent of your original investment. Also, if the price of bitcoin rises faster than the difficulty/payout, then you’ll make more money faster than you might have otherwise.

In some ways, MN2 can act like an interest-bearing account for your otherwise dormant BTC over short periods of time (i.e. a week). Buy into MN2, then sell it before the price drifts down as the bitcoin mining difficulty increases. It’s not going to get you rich, but if you can enter and exit MN2 at the same price, you could capture some simple gains. In many ways, it’s the easiest way to start bitcoin mining that I’ve come across so far. Learn more at Cryptsy.

LeagueCoin: League of Legends coin

LeagueCoin: League of Legends Tipbot & Digital Marketplace

LeagueCoin is a new X11 PoW/PoS altcoin that was inspired by the wildly well-liked on the web game League Of Legends. League Of Legends (LoL) is a multiplayer on the web battle arena video game that is played by 27 million players daily. Leaguecoin is a cryptocurrency that was created by LoL players and plugs correct into the ecosystem that is already tremendously common.

LeagueCoin is bringing real value to the on-line game League Of Legends by establishing a tipbot and marketplace for LoL digital items. The innovative tipbot will enable players to tip other players in-game at the finish of every round. This function has never been provided in this game and according to LoL players is the one aspect that is missing. The LeagueCoin tipbot and digital marketplace will perform hand-in-hand with every other considering that the digital currency will be right away redeemable for in-game accessories and approach guides.

Leaguecoin claims to “be in a league of its personal” due to the infrastructure that the dev team is building about it. If this concept catches on by the League of Legends neighborhood, the prospective is astounding due to the huge quantity of people that play the game daily. Don’t miss out on Leaguecoin’s launch on June 4th! They are at the moment holding a restricted time fundraiser and claim that all the funds will be reinvested into the project. Check out their Announcement Thread and Twitter for much more data!

WHITECOIN FOUNDATION

First up on the list is about the WhiteCoin Foundation registering as an association in Canada. If this plan were to succeed, it would grant quite a few benefits to the WhiteCoin Foundation. One of the main obstacles could be the fact that it has the word “foundation”in it.

Luckily for the WhiteCoin Foundation, they are able to meet all requirements in order to proceed with the current name anyway. Now it just remains to be seen which type of association fits the WhiteCoin Foundation best. The jurisdiction of choice will be Nova Scotia by the way.

Some of you are probably wondering, what are the benefits of registration? Here are a few:

We will be obligated to hold an Annual General Meeting (yes, in real life). An annual WhiteCoin Crypto Conference!

We will have access to applying for grants and tax benefits for holding such a conference

Tax benefits for when we begin our charitable mandate

Legitimacy in the eyes of the public

Legitimacy in the eyes of the mainstream media

More news about this effort will be provided over the course of the coming week(s).

So what else is on the to-do list for the WhiteCoin Foundation? A lot of things on which we haven’t received details yet at this point. What we can tell you, is what has been accomplished over the past month :

1. Consulting with the community to seize control from the original devs.

2. Forking the coin and providing an update to fix PoS (all using peer review as an adhoc team).

3. Creating a rebranding strategy and carefully executing it according to a schedule.

4. Providing a 2nd wallet update.

5. Work has begun on a 3rd wallet update.

6. Addition of games.

7. Fundraising initiatives to pay our devs.

8. Creation of a community driven website.

9. Drafting of the whitecoin paper, laying out a completely unique approach in crypto.

10. Creating a functioning committee structure.

11. Recruited and appointed a Director of Operations, Chief Technology Officer, and Director of Communications (Oizopower, Mindfox, and Birddog respectively).

12. Hours upon hours of legal research regarding founding as an association (nearly complete, name reservation process has begun)

13. Work on holding our first general assembly has been ongoing.

14. Drafting association bylaws for public review has been ongoing.

15. Logo contest underway and nearing the voting phase.

16. Op completely redesigned from scratch with new graphics (this was a 20+ hour job, for the record)

17. IRL investor outreach has been ongoing.

18. Mainstream media outreach has been ongoing with significant progress made (keep your eye out for this one).

19. Implementing a format for community consultation and democratic decision making.

COINAAA - ROUND TWO

Earlier this month we saw the launch of another alt coin.

This one is called Coinaaa. You probably think “oh no, NOT another one I have to keep track of”. Still the coin looks promising and requires an unbiased review.

Coinaaa is a bit different, which makes/keeps it interesting. Coinaaa has a minimum value. It won’t drop below a certain buy back price. This deviation from most other Crypto makes Coinaaa an interesting option for businesses. Coinaaa has a verified address system making it more desirable to use among legal businesses. Trading with businesses and people that have verified Coinaaa addresses will prevent fraud. According to the Coinaaa website, they are backed by real assets. The business structure of Coinaaa is one with quarterly audits. This means that when they release these audits they will provide the community with information and thus creating transparency. Coinaaa can be a good entry coin for beginners or for businesses and investors who want to dabble with Crypto without risking too much. The first set of Coinaaa currency was sold at a whopping 33 400 USD (10 000 NOK/1 700 USD a piece since 20 Coinaaas were sold). The next batch of Coinaaas will be sold in June 2014. People who are interested in contacting Coinaaa , can check out the following links:
